This is what remains of our old subfloor. The new one is going in as I type and the guys have done a great job of getting rid of all the rubbish that was under the floor. Some of it quite strange rubbish. Now the coins I can understand slipping between the floor boards. But beer bottles and shoes?

What lies beneath

Well that is a big hole!
Was it at least a PAIR of shoes, or just one? You should have posted photos of the junk under your floor!
Just one shoe. It was a very small, old fashioned button up one. Dad reckons its probably been there since the house was built (early 1890s). I'll try and remember to take a photo of the junk - it's all currently sitting on the sink.
