Just up and around the bend.

A north American classic to start the day, breakfast in a diner (luckily one with a coffee machine) and Matt FINALLY got his pancakes with maple syrup and crispy bacon. I had a half order of eggs benny with avo and it was delicious. Glad I took the half order because it also came with rosti and a bowl of fruit!

We eventually set out for Wells Grey Provincial Park to see the woods and explore the waterfalls. About a 50 minute drive to Dawson Falls and then Helmcken. Both stunning with an incredible volume of water being carried downstream.

Dawson Falls were just a 10 minute walk from the parking area. Then over a single lane bridge to our next photo op.

Helmcken Falls were even closer to where we parked with extensive picnic areas and viewpoints of the 140metre drop

Glad we didn't have a picnic because just around the corner as we were on our way back down the mountain we were very up close with a little bear! So cute and fuzzy but with big big claws

We next stopped at the trail head for the tripple decker falls but decided that it was too steep and slippery so we went on to the local swimming lake instead. We watched other people swimming - and several loons along with the loonies, way too cold for us!

Clearwater and Wells Grey was beautiful and well worth the stop here. And the advantage of the motel was easy access to unload the car and repack all our luggage so we only need to use one bag between us for our last few nights!
